Who AphasiaCo is for:

Anyone who is impacted by aphasia.

Maybe you just got home from the hospital.
Hopefully someone helped explain aphasia. Hopefully a speech therapist was involved during the hospital stay. But maybe that didn’t happen, or it didn’t happen enough, or there was just too much else going on that you couldn’t really hear what you were told. That happens a lot, and it’s normal.

Maybe you’re still new to aphasia.
You’re trying to set new routines and settle in, but you keep running into some challenges. You’ve tried trouble shooting, but could use some creative solutions.

Maybe your insurance ran out. Or sessions got cut.
This happens all too often and way before people feel “ready.”

Maybe someone said the aphasia has improved as much as it ever will. P.S. That’s not true!
People do keep improving well past the point they were told to stop expecting it (not everyone, and not on a schedule, but the door isn't shut the way it often gets described).

Maybe you’re a year out, or five years out.
You’re looking to try something new because the apps and the worksheets just aren’t cutting it

Maybe you're the spouse.
You've become the interpreter, the scheduler, the person who helps finish the sentence. You feel overwhelmed and frustrated sometimes and you want a space to discuss those feelings with someone who understands aphasia.

Maybe you're the adult child calling from another state.
You’re trying to work out what's actually available for your mom or dad. There’s a lot to coordinate and maybe not enough options.

Maybe there's a communication device sitting in a closet because nobody had time to set it up properly.
We’ll set it up together and make sure you feel comfortable with it. If it wasn’t the right fit, we’ll try something else!

Maybe you already have a speech therapist you like and just want to add something alongside.
That's completely fine. I'll work with them. Collaboration is key for the best possible recovery.
