Who AphasiaCo is for:
Anyone who is impacted by aphasia. There are a lot of scenarios where AphasiaCo can help.
If you just got home …
Maybe you just got home from the hospital.
Hopefully someone explained aphasia. Hopefully a speech therapist was involved during the stay. But maybe that didn't happen, or it didn't happen enough, or there was so much else going on that you couldn't really take it in. That happens a lot, and it's normal.Maybe you're still new to all of this.
You're trying to set up new routines and settle in, and you keep hitting the same walls. You've troubleshot what you can and could use some creative solutions.Maybe you want to continue (or start) intensive therapy.
Let’s set up a program that meets your needs.
If you're in the first year…
Maybe your insurance ran out, or sessions got cut.
This happens all the time, and almost always before anyone feels ready.Maybe someone said the aphasia has improved as much as it's going to.
That's not true! People keep improving well past the point they were told to stop expecting it. (Not everyone, and not on a schedule, but the door isn't shut the way it often gets described.)
If you're further out…
Maybe you're a year out. Maybe five.
The apps and the worksheets aren't cutting it anymore and you want to try something different.Maybe there's a communication device sitting in a closet because nobody had time to set it up properly. We'll set it up together and make sure it actually feels usable. If it turns out it was never the right fit, we'll try something else.
If you're the care partner…
Maybe you're the spouse.
You've become the interpreter, the scheduler, the person who helps finish the sentence. You're overwhelmed and frustrated sometimes, and you want somewhere to say that to someone who understands aphasia.Maybe you're the adult child calling from another state.
You're trying to work out what's actually available for your mom or dad, and there's a lot to coordinate with not enough options.
Wherever you are in this…
Maybe you already have a speech therapist you like and just want something alongside it. That's completely fine, and I'll work with them. Collaboration usually makes the whole thing work better.
Maybe none of these quite fit. Let’s schedule a free 15-minute call and talk about what's going on. If I'm not the right fit I'll say so, and I'll usually know where to point you instead.

Nobody had time to set it up properly or it got too confusing. We'll set it up together and make sure it actually feels usable. If it turns out that device was never the right fit, we'll try something else.
